Joyce Lavrar began her career in housing when she received her first license from the Department of Housing and Community Development (Occupational Licensing Program) to sell manufactured homes on March 15, 2011. Inspired by her passion for helping people find their perfect homes, she went on to earn her California Real Estate Salesperson License in April 2014.
Since then, Joyce has successfully guided buyers and sellers through more than 250 real estate transactions. Her experience has shown that exceptional customer service and putting her clients’ needs first are the foundations of lasting success. Joyce takes pride in being accessible, attentive, and genuinely committed to helping each client achieve their real estate goals. She listens carefully to what matters most and works tirelessly to turn homeownership dreams into reality.

A little about Joyce: she grew up in the Bay Area (Sunnyvale and Mountain View), and at age 12, her family moved to a 12-acre ranch in Fresno County, where they raised horses and cows. Those early years instilled in her a strong work ethic that continues to guide her personal and professional life today. Joyce has been happily married to her wonderful husband for over 40 years. She enjoys spending time at home, visiting the ocean and mountains, listening to all kinds of music, and being active in her church community.

Choosing Joyce Lavrar as a realtor was one of the best decisions I have made. Because I live out of state from where the property was located, I needed someone who was a master at coordinating workmen to do repairs, knowing those that provide quality workmanship, and still keeping the costs down. Joyce was honest on every detail and provided everything I needed and more. She kept me informed with phone calls, emails, and sent pictures of progress being made. She coordinated all the paperwork which took a load off my mind. When I was in town, she kept all of our appointments, and went above and beyond by providing me with a battery charger so I could move a vehicle that was on the sold property. You will not go wrong if you allow Joyce to work for you.

Joyce was amazing. From the first day we met her, she has been nothing but helpful. She had obviously done her research on the property, had excellent suggestions for any deficiencies that might occur, including relationships with cleaners, and other repairmen who were competent. She was also very ‘hands on’ in assisting with the staging process, and other minor and major improvements that had to be made. She was (is) very good to work with as a person. She was open to suggestions, explained everything in great detail, and was always there for us if we needed to contact her. She would be the first realtor I would seek if I had another house to sell. I cannot recommend her more highly as both a professional real estate agent, and as a wonderful person to work with. Five stars are not enough. By the way, the house had an offer in only a number of days. (I don’t know the official date it went on the market, but the sale was much quicker than expected-and in the difficult holiday season).

We started our listing back in December 2019 on our Modular home. She conducted many Open houses, that is until Covid-19 hit! Then she set up and followed all restrictions set out for realtors to show homes. She monitored home buyers and looked after our best interests in selling our fairly new home (3 years old). She watered the gardens for us as we moved out of the park in February, thinking the sale would happen fairly quickly. But it didn’t. After we received the final offer, she was very patient with us on our lack of knowledge of the selling/buying process. The deal finally went through and we are out of our mortgage just in time! Thanks to all of her hard work and attention to details.

Joyce helped me buy a home for a very difficult client with special needs who needed an extremely high level of attention and assistance. Joyce was our angel. She responded immediately to every call and email, and went out of her way to make my client happy and be sure her needs were met. She was always professional and cheerful, clearly knew the local real estate market well, and had all sorts of connections with people who could do repairs and maintenance work. I hired her for a property sale six months later and had the same great experience. I would not consider going to any other agent.

This past winter/spring I was looking to purchase my first home. With ever rising rent prices, I was weeks from moving away from the Bay Area. It was then that someone told me about these hidden “gem” housing communities that were still somewhat affordable. I took a drive around a few parks in Sunnyvale and knew that my daughter and I would find the perfect home there. The only problem was, I didn’t know where to start the process, and was terrified. All that changed when I popped in to an open house and met Joyce Lavrar. From the get go, Joyce paid close attention to what I really needed and wanted in a home, and helped me refine my search. She often gained access to homes during what seemed like the very moment they hit the market. She made house hunting such a breeze, and so much fun. I was able to see every house on my list, and sometimes I’d go back twice or three or four times, but Joyce never minded. She was patient, and would help me process my thoughts about each house. Another thing I really liked was that Joyce was so knowledgeable about each style of home. She knew the details off the top of her head, and was always able to point out strong/weak points of a house. She even talked me out of a house or two when I thought I was in love, and she knew it wasn’t the right fit for me. She was honest and put my needs before money in her pocket. She was such a HUGE part of me finally finding that perfect home for me and my daughter and she cried tears of joy with me the day we closed on the house. The day I got my keys, there was a precious gift waiting for me in my house from Joyce that will always be special to me. She’s very generous and kind. She will always be special to me, and I hope to always call her a friend.
